New to the 14th Annual A+A wards is the Architecture +Innovation category– a dedicated area for tasks that advance the discipline through truly brand-new thinking: in materials, in procedure, in technology or in the way architecture engages with its social and ecological context. It is, in numerous methods, the category that finest records what the A+A wards are all about.
Sponsoring the Architecture +Development classification is Mbrico, the American-made porcelain tile decking system that has fundamentally rethought what outside surface areas can be. Where the decking industry when defaulted to wood and composite materials with well-documented constraints– fading, warping, intensive maintenance requirements– Mbrico crafted an alternative from the ground up: a fully incorporated system of high-density porcelain pavers, structural pedestals and marine-grade aluminum tracking– all LEED-certified and designed to perform throughout every environment.
That alignment with Architecture +Development is not incidental. Mbrico’s method to decking mirrors the innovative sensibility that A+A wards winners embody: a willingness to interrogate recognized conventions, buy long-lasting efficiency over short-term convenience, and treat spec as an essential style decision. We’re happy to welcome them as partners for this classification and this season.
