
Some homes show the spirit of a location– however even the most rooted settings can utilize a contemporary counterpoint. Vincenzo Ferrieri and Stefania Faraone Ferrieri, a young Milanese couple who move between the worlds of catering and style, found themselves in this circumstance upon purchasing their new apartment or condo, located on the second floor of a 1960s building in the city’s Sant’Ambrogio area. The bones still held the energy of the single household that occupied the area before them, though a fresh update was required to match Vincenzo and Stefania’s perceptiveness. To honor the past while introducing the future, they turned to Lucrezia Calvi’s LC Atelier studio, an AD100 Italy honoree.

A contemporary upgrade
“It had been ignored for several years, yet it retained its soul, which led us to decide to keep some of the furnishings,” states Stefania, who had a clear vision for her new home. “For us, this wasn’t simply a style choice, but practically a spiritual death of the baton.” Stefania and Vincenzo took unique note of the house’s initial marble flooring, among numerous other aspects that add soul to the space.To preserve the emotional spirit of the home, the couple turned to Lucrezia Calvi, an interior designer understood for the fragile touch with which she approaches remodellings. “Each aspect is a memory we wanted to regard,” Calvi says about her remediation philosophy. “We upgraded the area with brand-new products, however constantly with much cautious thought, forming the project around what was currently there. The old and the new are woven together in a dialogue that takes place throughout the home.”
