Tneib House is a personal home located in Tneib, near Amman, Jordan, created by architect Abdel Qader Tarabieh. The project is arranged around a main yard that structures both the spatial structure and ecological experience of the home. Two solid architectural volumes frame an open living space positioned at the heart of the plan, permitting every day life to unfold within a calm, inward-oriented environment. Your home employs a restrained combination of locally sourced white stone, exposed concrete, and natural wood, stressing material connection with the surrounding landscape. Sliding glass doors embedded within the stone walls enable interior areas to expand into the courtyard, creating fluid transitions between constructed type and outside space. Restored olive trees put within the courtyard reinforce the task’s connection to local memory and farming heritage. Through its emphasis on enclosure, light control, and material tactility, the design develops a domestic environment that stabilizes defense with openness while staying carefully tied to its cultural and geographic context.
The Tneib Home explores the concept of the residence as a place of retreat, where architecture prioritizes calmness and inward orientation rather than outside display. Found in the rural context of Tneib outside Amman, the house provides a peaceful architectural presence in its environments. From the street, the job appears as a series of low stone walls supporting a continuous horizontal concrete airplane. This restrained outside structure conceals the spatial life of your home, developing a subtle limit in between the public realm and the personal domestic environment.
Structurally, the job is specified by a concrete roof slab supported by inverted beams that span the main living location. This structural technique permits the main area to stay open and visually uninterrupted. Within this structure, the strategy is arranged around 2 strong volumes that contain personal rooms and service functions. Positioned in between these volumes, the main living area emerges as an open void that serves as the spatial core of your home, connecting the different programmatic elements while maintaining a sense of clearness and proportion.

When retracted, these openings enable the living location to extend external underneath a shaded concrete canopy towards the courtyard. This spatial connection allows the house to broaden into the landscape while staying protected from the region’s extreme sunshine, producing transitional spaces that support both daily domestic activities and seasonal climatic comfort. Material options reinforce the project’s emphasis on permanence and restraint. Exterior walls are constructed from locally sourced white ripped stone laid in a subtle horizontal pattern that accentuates the strength of the enclosure. Inside, natural wood surface areas and muted finishes soften the weight of the stone, developing a warm interior atmosphere shaped by light and shadow. Through this cautious balance of mass, product, and spatial openness, Tneib House develops an architecture of peaceful inhabitation that advantages experience, continuity, and connection to place.
