Fluentus Residences emerge from a steep Cycladic hillside
Fluentus Residences task by The Hive Architects refers to a cavern home in Kythnos, Greece, integrated into a high hillside of the Cycladic land. The terrain is used as the principal tool for forming the structure’s kind along its function. The structure develops on the slope, forming a set of low, extended volumes relatively emerging from the earth, quietly present in the landscape. The structure is arranged into 3 distinct below ground systems at various levels on the hillside. A path that unfolds along the shapes of the terrain, gets to consecutive entrance points, gradually revealing the residences. This plan enables locals to enjoy unblocked views and makes sure privacy for each unit’s courtyards. The roofings are extensions of the surface itself, covered with natural plant life, further integrating the structure into the land. The curved kind of the keeping walls and roofing system edges is a component of plasticity in consistent discussion with the curves of the keeping drywall structures that are normal of the Cycladic surface.

The living spaces are set up along big windows framing the landscape, and developing a strong spatial connection between the interior and the view. The shift from the indoor areas to the outside lawns happens naturally through protected outside areas and shaded yards. Extended ponds that work as pool with a vanishing edge extend the water zone to the horizon. The architectural composition developed by The Hive Architects’ style team utilizes natural materials and target at decreasing the visual effect of the structure on the environment by employing the principles of ‘surface architecture.’ This technique translates the ground in shaping the structure, rather than enforcing a structure on the land, and develops a brand-new relationship in between architecture and landscape.
