Its raw surface evokes industrial usage while echoing the inherent simpleness of the barn. Standard materials for modern living Working closely with the customer, the architects succeeded in changing the original spirit of the historical structure into an unique modern home. The aspiration was to rely on natural structure materials, notably lime plaster and flax, used in the building of the walls.
The absence of contemporary additions or unneeded fixtures on the interior surfaces creates an extensive sense of calm and clarity.The introduction of a very first flooring enabled restrooms and additional bed rooms to be inconspicuously integrated into the design. The remodelling of the barn was guided by the aspiration to produce a zero-consumption home.
