Bulgaria-based tiny house manufacturer Koleliba has been developing micro-dwellings because the early 2010s, however it is only now that the studio has actually genuinely captured our attention. Distinguished for mobile homes like Younicube and Jana, Koleliba has an impressive portfolio of tiny homes. One of the brand name’s earlier builds is the Family Tiny, a 21.3-foot-long tiny house that now resides in Austria with a Scandinavian-inspired interior.

Poised on a double-axle trailer and completed in March 2019 for an Austrian household, the Family Tiny measures 8.2 feet in width and packs in a two-person bed room, a small yet practical cooking area, and a living room. The main USP of the tiny home is its cleverly hidden bed room, pull-out single bed, and a convertible bed, which combined can sleep as much as four individuals.

Comparable to Jana’s tiny home, the Family Tiny includes a wood exterior and a metal roofing system. What sets it apart from Jana and Younicube (Koleliba’s other developments) is a fold-out sunshade and an exterior deck that, according to the makers, “turn the front façade into a great outdoor chill zone.” This advises us of Draper and Jupiter small homes by Land Ark Recreational Vehicle and Wunder Tiny Home, respectively, though the 2 featured only a collapsible deck without a fold-out sunshade.

Another significant outside function is the generous glazing, which allows sufficient natural light to flood the interior. “The façades are made from Siberian larch and treated with linseed oil in natural color,” the manufacturer notes.

Visitors can access the interior through a wide glazed door that opens straight into the living-room. Unlike many small homes that feel cramped and cluttered, this Austrian-built small home boasts a minimalist, functional, and relaxing interior, similar to old-school Scandinavian small homes we have covered on Homecrux.

The living-room serves as the main center of the home and consists of a storage-integrated couch and a separate pull-out bench. Organized in an L-shape, both the couch and the bench are independent systems, however when combined, they can conveniently sleep a couple. Not to discuss, a center table that finishes the living room setup.

Surrounding to the living room is the main-floor bedroom, a smart, secret nook that a lot of would easily error for a closet. The small home forgoes a traditional loft in favor of this concealed sleeping space, which, as highlighted by autoevolution, sits atop among the benches and is fitted with a moving door for adjustable privacy. The bed room sleeps a couple and features its own window, light, and a wall-mounted cupboard.

On the opposite side of the bedroom lies the bathroom and kitchen. The kitchen is well-equipped with cabinets, a counter top, a full-size oven, and a stove. The refrigerator and dishwashing machine are especially absent, and understandably so, considered that the main purpose of this tiny home is to function as a weekend retreat rather than a fully practical mobile house.

The restroom is available by means of a moving door and features a toilet, shower, and vanity sink. While the brand name doesn’t clearly state it, we presume the Family Tiny crowning achievement on a basic RV-style connection.
