Some things have an indescribable magnetism, something that sparks neurons deep within the brain. Call it what you like, design, substance, ‘it’, you understand it when you see it. Brooklyn-based Courtney Kinnare taps in to this vein of creativity with her latest releases, the Berry Polka Pendants and her Sorbetto lighting series, now available at Tuleste Factory. Working in glass, resin, and fashion jewelry, the vertices of openness, reflection and layering are vital to her work.

The Olive Polka Pendant, olive with purple dots, are merged and inset just slightly into the main body of the lamp, resting carefully on the surface area, virtually weightless. The Berry Polka Pendant, purple with olive dots, is not it’s set’s opposite, but a sister, or possibly a cousin. A warm radiance exhibits from the orbs, held in stately brass hardware, suspended in space. Powerful when awaited tandem, they bring balance either right next to each other, or individually, adding to the use cases where we could envision these pieces.

There are deep reds that become a dazzling orange, in the Sherbert Sorbetto Pendant, and light pinks that contain an impressive amount of depth, brightened or otherwise.

the work. As each piece is handmade, there will be welcome modification within the worlds, each an item of the unique competence that brings this lighting to life. The Gumdrop Sorbetto Pendant is similar to a soundscape, bursts of color melting into each other, operating in harmony to keep the light housed.< img src="https://design-milk.com/images/2026/04/Sorbetto-Series-Courtney-Kinnare-Tuleste-Factory-11-810x1080.jpg"alt =""width=" 810"height= "1080"/ > Courtney Kinnare is a Brooklyn-based artist, working mostly in glass, resin, and metal (at the minute).
