Ramos Alderete sets an immersive resting room within an office
The Relax Space, created by Ramos Alderete Studio, is conceived as a devoted interior within a business environment, transforming two existing conference room into a space for time out, consideration, and casual interaction. The project revamps a constrained tubular layout into a confined, immersive environment specified by curved geometry, controlled lighting, and acoustic materiality.
The original area was narrow and lengthened, disrupted by a structural column and a conventional window. The intervention reinterprets these components through spatial adjustment. The column is hidden yet continues to arrange the internal scale, while the window is transformed into a calibrated light. The linear geometry is improved into a constant curved envelope, producing brand-new visual point of views and a more fluid spatial experience. Walls and ceilings are clad in acoustic materials, developing a controlled and tactile interior condition. The enclosure, integrated with an airtight entry, establishes a clear threshold between the work area and the interior environment, modifying sound, light, and spatial understanding upon entry.
Despite its minimal footprint, the room accommodates numerous uses through a mix of open floor area and integrated stepped seating. This setup allows the area to support meetings, discussions, rest, and informal gatherings without dependence on additional furnishings. Different spatial zones are defined through scale and light. A recessed niche offers a smaller, more concentrated setting for individual use or small conversations, while the primary location supports cumulative occupation. The style balances shared and private conditions within a single continuous volume.

The specific niche, lit up with indirect light, develops a more intimate and contained spatial condition. The reinterpreted window, oriented toward the office, keeps a visual connection with the surrounding work environment.Additionally, an integrated RGB
lighting system enables modifications in environment, supporting various usages and modes of occupation. The project counts on a restrained material combination, where acoustic surface areas, soft curvature, and controlled lighting add to a constant interior environment. The combination of geometry and materiality minimizes external stimuli and supports a focused, quieter spatial condition within the office context. The Relax Room by Ramos Alderete Studio presents an alternative spatial typology within the business
setting, moving from productivity-driven designs toward a more versatile environment. Through geometric transformation, incorporated seating, and a structured lighting system, the project develops an area that supports both private and collective use while keeping continuity with the surrounding office. noise, light, and environment shift upon getting in the unwind room stepped seating incorporates numerous uses without included furniture a recessed specific niche produces a smaller, focused spatial zone
