Texas-based Decathlon Tiny Homes is no stranger to our coverage, and while surfing their item brochure today, we came across one of its earlier creations, the Jay tiny home on wheels. The mobile home caught our attention for one factor alone: a personal main-level bedroom that in fact sleeps 2, which is not something you see often at this size and cost point.

To put that into viewpoint, the Jay small house steps 24 feet long, 8.6 feet broad, and is priced at $79,500. Provided the size and the rate, the main-level bedroom can be considered a high-end, to state the least. A lot so, when it was among the earliest designs by Jerry Terry and his group.

Poised on a double-axle trailer, the Jay tiny home comes with F-WAVE roofing and clever siding with a painted exterior finish. For purchasers who desire more character on the outside, Decathlon provides tongue-and-groove cedar outside cladding as an add-on, ranging from $4,950 to $6,800 depending on the version, in addition to cedar accent options.

Visitors can access the interior through an outswing exterior door. Inside, the tiny house includes a living room, kitchen, bed room, and bathroom. There’s a dedicated living location different from the cooking area and sleeping space, providing the Jay a more traditional home layout than a lot of tiny integrate in this size range. The living-room is equipped with a couch, which is rather a surprise, thinking about Decathlon Tiny Residences does not utilize furnishings in its living room.

The kitchen is fully geared up for daily usage. It is outfitted with cabinets topped by butcher-block counter tops, a two-burner cooktop, a microwave, and a fridge. Other features include sink and washer/dryer connections. The 12,000 BTU mini-split manages heating and cooling, while the 30-gallon water heater products hot water with a tankless system readily available as an upgrade.

Speaking of upgrades, the Jay tiny house provides plenty. This ranges from stone counter tops and a farm sink to a tile backsplash and a folding bar top. Not to mention, an under-counter electric oven that lets purchasers push the kitchen area more detailed to a full domestic setup.

The Jay tiny home’s most practical function is its ground-floor bedroom, which sleeps two on a custom-made bed platform with integrated storage drawers below. The bedroom also consists of a customized wardrobe with drawers. A moving barn door keeps the area organized and personal. The Jay small house also includes a loft. This is not perfect for sleeping, but can assist house home essentials.

Below the loft is the restroom with a one-piece standard flush toilet and a limit shower, in addition to a restroom sink and vanity. Purchasers who choose an off-grid setup can swap the basic toilet for a composting unit. Additional features consist of a washer/dryer combination, retractable ceiling fan, Fandelier, and convection microwave combo. Like most mobile homes in the United States, the Jay tiny house garners power via a basic RV-style connection.
