
ECHO ZEN PULLS AWAY: A HOME ORGANIZED AROUND OUTSIDE LIVING
Created by VP Architectural Studio, Echo Zen Retreats is a property complex found on the island of Kefalonia, Greece. The task explores Mediterranean outdoor living through a composition of interconnected indoor and outside areas, where architecture is arranged around landscape, climate, and everyday use.
The layout unfolds from personal bedroom suites toward shared living areas fixated the cooking area and dining spaces. Large openings develop visual connection in between the interiors and the surrounding landscape while presenting natural light throughout the residence.
Outside living forms a central part of the design. Pergolas offer shaded transitional spaces connecting the primary buildings with swimming pools, balconies, and event locations. Surrounding to the primary volume, an outdoor barbecue location extends the common program below one of the pergolas, supporting cooking, dining, and social activities in an open-air setting.

Echo Zen Retreats is all about exploring the quiet joy of just existing|all images by duee.studio VP Architectural Studio utilizes easy types to FORM LIVING AREAS The project integrates restrained architectural types with a palette of natural materials and warm tones that respond to the character of the Ionian landscape. Thoroughly proportioned volumes and direct geometries create a sequence of intimate and shared areas while maintaining a close relationship with the site’s topography and environment.
Echo Zen Retreats shows VP Architectural Studio’s minimalist design technique, using easy forms, product connection, and indoor-outdoor connections to develop a residential environment integrated with its natural surroundings.
