An enormous waterside estate in Boca Raton, two ultra-luxury Manhattan homes, and numerous waterfront Florida estates were amongst May’s most pricey home sales.

A vast estate in Boca Raton, FL claimed the title of most costly U.S. home sale in May, costing $75 million in the personal golf course community of Royal Palm Private Yacht & Country Club. Next comes another Florida property, a high-end estate in Manalapan, fetching $62.5 million.

The Sunshine State controlled the ultra-luxury market, representing half of May’s 10 most costly home sales. A recent Redfin analysis found that the luxury market in West Palm Beach is flourishing, partially due to billionaires moving in. Florida’s concentration of waterfront estates and favorable tax environment continue to bring in rich purchasers from throughout the country.

New york city secured two spots, a set of ultra-luxury houses in the exact same Upper West Side tower. A mountain house in Aspen, CO is another one of May’s most costly sales, with a Lake Tahoe compound and a Malibu beach house rounding out the leading 10.

May’s top two sales went beyond $60 million, and all 10 cost at least $30 million, underscoring the continued strength of the high-end real estate market despite more comprehensive housing-market headwinds.
