- A lot of property owners (72%) feel a sense of belonging in their community, and 71% have a neighbor they consider a good friend.
- By contrast, the majority of renters (57%) stated their home is simply a location to live. Just 35% of property owners said the same.
Almost three-quarters (74%) of U.S. property owners would rather be at home than anywhere else, according to a recent Redfin-commissioned study.
In acknowledgment of National Homeownership Month in June, Redfin is reporting on how Americans feel about their homes and their communities. Redfin commissioned Ipsos to perform the study of 4,000 U.S. homeowners, including 2,280 homeowners and 1,431 tenants. Lead to this report are based on a single concern which asked participants to respond to how likely they were to concur or disagree with a set of declarations about how they relate to their present home and community.
House owners were about as likely to concur that their home is a reflection of who they are (74%), and that they feel a sense of belonging in their community (72%).
