acte deux turns a paris apartment into
a’ swim lane’ On the sixth flooring of a domestic structure in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, Acte Deux reimagines a 73-square-meter home as a spirited interior landscape shaped by references to pool, entitled Couloir de Nage. The remodelling project combines a street-facing terrace with a secondary living-room and presents a broad bay window that opens throughout two-thirds of its width, broadening views and extending the living location toward the outside.
Throughout the apartment or condo, the designers introduce visual cues obtained from aquatic environments. Mosaic surface areas appear in the kitchen area, flow areas, and bathroom, where they trace linear patterns reminiscent of swimming pool lanes. These graphic aspects direct movement through the home much like significant lanes organize swimmers in water. The combination enhances the recommendation, with azure-blue cabinetry and surfaces echoing the tones typically connected with swimming pool basins and coastal architecture.

The remodelling starts with a reconfiguration of the existing layout of the apartment or condo. By combining the terrace with the surrounding living space, Acte Deux combines fragmented spaces into a more continuous environment. The upgraded bay window permits the facade to open broadly and bring daylight deep into the interior, improving, at the exact same time, circulation but also establishing the conceptual structure of the task.
Additional details reinforce the thematic atmosphere of Couloir de Nage. Nautical fittings and pool-like fixtures appear together with more standard domestic elements. A bean-shaped sink, recalling the soft geometries of Californian swimming pools, becomes a focal object within the bathroom. The apartment puts together fragments of aquatic iconography, equating them into an interior language.
