Alloy Advancement shared renderings of Temple Square Plaza, an upcoming public space in Downtown Brooklyn designed by Future Green Studio, and to be kept by the Downtown Brooklyn Partnership.

Temple Square Plaza will be built at Alloy Block, a mixed-use advancement of market-rate and inexpensive housing, retail, and commercial office that’s home to New york city’s very first passive public school, created by ARO.

Alloy CEO Jared Della Valle stated Temple Square Plaza “represents an exciting next action in the Alloy Block, assisting shape a more dynamic, people-first, and sustainable Downtown Brooklyn.”

The plaza will be developed on the corner of Third Street and Flatbush Opportunity below a forthcoming tower under construction as part of stage 2 of the Alloy Block megadevelopment, called One Third Opportunity.

Moving chairs, timber-slated benches, platform seating, and standing bars will mark circulation through the green area, while providing a series of spots for lounging.

“By transforming the corner into a raised, green public space, we’ll provide a destination that welcomes citizens and visitors to gather, relax, and connect,” Della Valle added. “The plaza’s design is community-driven, planned in action to the desire for a more inviting, park-like environment, while honoring the area’s rich history.”

Della Valle added that Alloy’s goal is to set “a new standard for the future of sustainable city development.”

Alloy is targeting conclusion in early 2028.
