image thanks to HENN Museum, Science Center & Public Satisfying Place, Germany With a symbolic groundbreaking event and the laying of the foundation stone, building officially started on March 18, 2026, for the Forum Deutsche Sprache(German Language Online Forum)in Mannheim. HENN’s style for the new building was picked as the winning entry in an architectural competition in 2021. Conclusion is prepared for 2028. Designed as part museum, part science center, the Online forum Deutsche Sprache in Mannheim is a distinct building where science and society engage in discussion. The Leibniz-Institut für Deutsche Sprache (Leibniz Institute for the German Language) will use it as an exhibit space and interactive research center. It develops a public meeting point where interactive discussions, conversations, and ongoing research permit visitors to experience the nature of language, its omnipresence and diversity.The new develop, endowed by Klaus Tschira Stiftung, creates an open forum, a floating space between within and outside– lobby and Meßplatz square– that provides a location where visitors, employees, and individuals from the neighborhood come together.< img src=" https://www.e-architect.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/museum-science-center-and-public-meeting-place-germany-h180326-520x347.webp"alt="Museum Science Center and Public Fulfilling Place Germany building"width="520 "height="347"/ > At the foundation stone event, Christian Specht, Mayor of Mannheim, stated:” Right in the heart of Mannheim, at the intersection between Neckarstadt and downtown, the Online forum Deutsche Sprache is taking shape as a location dedicated not just to our language, but to democratic exchange, dialogue, and social variety.” Prof. Dr. Henning Lobin, Scientific Director of the Leibniz Institute for the German Language,
