
On March 31, a scandal sheet of Facades +is coming to Coverings in Las Vegas, the biggest stone and tile conference and exhibit in North America. Each attendee of Facades+ Las Vegas will receive complimentary admission to all 3 days of Coverings. The half day program will include two design case research studies and two educational sessions, and will occur at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Keynote: Natural Tactility: An Evolution of Tangible Charm and Performance with Stone and Terra-cotta Facades
The program starts with a discussion from keynote Craig Copeland, primary designer at Pelli Clarke & Partners. Copeland will analyze the resurgence of stone and terra-cotta in high performance envelope design, utilizing projects in New York City, Washington D.C., and other cities across the United States as case research studies. He will also cover amazing exclusive advancements in product hybrid research study.

Next, John Kuchen, associate principal at SOM; and Justin Russell, vice president at Enclos, will go over the elegantly proportioned, shifting grid of roman travertine pilasters and lintels that compose the facade of One Steuart Lane in San Francisco. Participants will learn about the intricacies that feature working with travertine, and how these difficulties can be prevailed over during the design and building and construction procedure.
