However what separates the great brokers from the fantastic ones? One lending executive offered his thoughts on what enables the absolute best brokers to separate themselves from the rest of the pack.

Michael Fuller (imagined top), vice president of wholesale at Constructive Capital, stated the very first thing is apparent: they go above and beyond to get a deal done.

“They’re really persistent,” Fuller informed Mortgage Specialist America. “They’re really on top of the loan. They understand the loan inside and out. They’ve really hung around examining it and understanding it. If they get a call from me or my processor, whether it’s a condition or getting an entity doc or something else, they’re right on top of it.”

Remaining even-keeled

Fuller said when dealing with his busiest brokers, it’s not unusual to be on calls late into the night reviewing files.

“I have among my busiest brokers, and we could be on the phone at 8:00, 9:00, 10:00 at night, going over files,” he stated. “We discuss what’s being available in tomorrow. All of us have a limited time in our day. We all have loan processors who are in direct contact with the brokers. It’s our task as the account executive to work and have that relationship with the brokers.
