Rather of stiff foam or rockwool for outside insulation, I will be using rockwool batts fitted in between horizontal strapping on my sheathing. As such, my WRB will be on top of the strapping (on the exterior of the exterior batt insulation). Nevertheless, my windows are flanged and will be attached to the sheathing, which makes complex flashing. My tentative plan is as in the attached diagram, but I am concerned about waterproofing the interior corners. In the connected diagram, I have actually circled the prospective powerlessness.
Before taping the interior corners, I am thinking about caulking them too, however I would be grateful if anyone with more experience can tell me if this overall style is dangerous. I might move the window to be in aircraft with the WRB, but I prefer the inset appearance and I understand there are likewise thermal advantages to doing it that way also.
