Slow Roads Dalia Block Print Quilt

Hand-loomed cotton with traditional Indian hand-blocked print pattern is one way to give your bedroom a sense of a time capsule. The natural dye of the fabric gives this quilt character that can’t be found in modern prints and patterns. The boxy design further elevates the reversible pattern–big, bolder florals on one side, and delicate posies on the other. We can picture this right at home in a historical abode.

Toast Organic Cotton Pajama Stripe Housewife Pillowcase

Stripes are one thing, but when you add three dainty bow-tie fastening details on the side of the pillowcase, the bedding completely changes its tune. Organic cotton ensures that when you do snooze, the pillowcase is super soft, in a lived-in kind of way. You can fully lean into the grid by adding more stripes, or break up the geometry with ditzy florals, even if it’s just on the throw pillow or bed skirt.

Lulu and Georgia Poiret European Flax Linen Sheet Set

These little posies add a charming touch to a bedscape. “The pattern adds just enough visual interest without overwhelming the entire bed—which can happen with a more dense ditsy floral pattern,” says Alpert. “This texture looks a bit less wrinkly than some of the other bedding made of flax linen.” For a maximalist take, mix-and-match this bedding with the mid-sized blocked patterns of the Fransen pattern.

Morrow Soft Goods Kori Throw Pillow

It’s no secret that a stripe can give your bed just the right amount of flair, but when a throw pillow has a fabric-covered button in the center, you won’t be able to take your eyes off these. “Originally, I got these for my sofa, but I love how they punctuate my bedscape and break up all the regular pillow stacks,” says Alpert. “These also have a nice resistance to help you sit upright if you’re working in bed.”

Parachute Linen Box Quilted Euro Sham

The larger grid of this quilted sham is your answer for when you like this design style but don’t want to go too country. This silhouette is a bit more modern, so you can dip your toes into the aesthetic without committing to it completely. The colorways are almost dusty in hue, allowing the soft palette to work cohesively.

GreenRow Helena Floral Sheet Set

Florals and gingham are like the peanut butter and jelly of cottagecore, so when Alpert spotted the GreenRow Helena sheet set, she had to have it. “The micro gingham ruffle really got me and I love how it looks against the delicate blossom on the bedding,” she says. While the colorway says yellow, the hue has an almost blush undertone, so it works beautifully with copper tones and is actually amplified when you pair it with other pinks and lilacs. “It’s not just how this bedding looks that makes it a repeat set, the cotton satin weave also makes these extremely soft, even more velvety than the sateen bedding I own,” Alpert adds.

Quince European Linen Sheet Set

For those who prefer a more minimalist approach but still want to inject a rustic touch, the Quince European linen sheet set is the answer. The brand just dropped two limited-edition colorways: rose and butter yellow. Several of our editors—including senior shopping editor Nashia Baker—are already fans of this sheet set. “While my bedroom style can vary, Quince’s linen bedding has been a mainstay on my mattress,” she says in her best linen sheets review. “I love its airy nature.”

Brooklinen Breezeweave Cotton Gingham Bed Blanket

The contrast stitching on the Brooklinen Breezeweave bed blanket turns gingham on its head in the best way. Color-blocking in bright pastel hues will keep your bedroom from looking too serious. This cotton piece is made in Portugal (generally known as the land of all great linens!)

Boll & Branch Signature Hemmed Sheet Set

Of all the materials AD shopping director Rachel Fletcher has tested—percale, Supima cotton, and linen—the Boll & Branch signature sateen sheets are the crème de la crème of bedding. “That extra-soft feel, paired with the lovely, cooling properties, makes them feel like the luxury sheets they are,” she says in her review. That buttery texture is the result of long-staple cotton fibers that only get more luxurious wash after wash. Since cottagecore is all about that cozy factor, we can’t think of a better choice for basking in bed.

A ruffled bedding set with flounce-trimmed pillowcases and flat sheet puts a romantic twist on the cottagecore vibes. Choose from the neutral white or ivory or lean into the garden designs with chintz prints against a white or teal background. To amp up the aesthetic, add a vintage teacup to your nightstand as a jewelry organizer.

Brooklinen Ribbed Matelasse Duvet Cover

Those who want to lean into cottagecore but still love their boho style, Brooklinen Ribbed Matelasse duvet cover implements a French-inspired technique that gives the fabric a padded laissez-faire attitude on top, but a pampering percale touch beneath. “You really can’t go wrong with the gorgeous plum hue—it mimics the changing leaves perfectly,” says Alpert. “The weight also evokes the fall foliage, light and just crisp enough.” When paired with a chunky throw and, perhaps a plaid throw, the duvet cover and shams practically give off visual warmth.

Platform Bed in a eclectic pattern with a white mattress and pair of standard pillows

Lulu and Georgia Mino Platform Bed

Lulu and Georgia knows how to design a noteworthy bed, and the scalloped Mino platform bed in blockprint floral upholstery is no exception. The Indian technique was popularized in late 17th-century England and has had numerous revivals since, making it a classic cottagecore staple.

The Citizenry Stonewashed Organic Cotton Percale Sheet Set

Sensitive sleepers, who might not love the more coarse feel of linen, can still indulge in cottagecore bedding looks by incorporating the Citizenry stonewashed organic cotton percale sheets into their collection. “While percale in the name, these have a subtle sateen quality to them, yet in an airy kind of way,” says Alpert of her 300 thread count warm grey-hued set. “It’s like sleeping in a meadow of dandelion fluff.” Alpert is also a bit obsessed with the eyelet detail on the pillowcases and flat sheet trim, comparing it to “delicate needlework crafted by someone’s grandmother.” The bedding is also Oeko-Tex and Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified.

Gray Waffle Blanket

McGee & Co. Carnel Gray Waffle Blanket

Layering is all about playing around with different textures. The somewhat unexpected ribbed design of the McGee & Co. Carnel waffle blanket gives it a bespoke quality but without any pretences. Since it’s not overly heavy, you can use it to give you bedscaping that extra dimension without feeling trapped.

Floral Percale Sheet Set

Peacock Alley Chloe Floral Percale Sheet Set

Channel the Secret Garden storyline by adding the Peacock Alley Chloe percale set to your bedding fortress. The vintage-inspired pattern is bright enough to wake up a rustic-themed space enveloped in earthy tones. For an upscale touch, notice the satin stitch embroidery on the hem of the flat sheet and pillowcases. To really bring your cottagecore bedroom to life add indoor houseplants like cascading pothos.

Piglet Pearl Posy Bud Linen Blend Bed Skirt

A classic gathered bed skirt with soft frills, like this one in a delicate posy-motif from Piglet in Bed, is a quintessential cottagecore bedding staple. This simple posy pattern was popular in the 1900s Edwardian era and pairs perfectly with lace and trim detail on decorative pillows tossed on your bed. The bedskirt is woven from European linen and long staple cotton, giving it an airy aesthetic. You could also choose the sage or warm blue gingham colorway, should you want the bed skirt to break up the duvet cover in the same colorway.

Toile Patterned Cotton Gauze Duvet Cover

Urban Outfitters Bunny Toile Patterned Cotton Gauze Duvet Cover

Fans of Raising Hare, a memoir by Chloe Dalton that takes place in the English countryside, will be enamoured by the Urban Outfitters Bunny Toile duvet cover with an adorable storyline of the critters printed on the gauzy cotton. Matching toile shams with a rose-and-butterfly motif are a must as well.

Piglet Mini Meadow Cotton Duvet Cover

You might resort to living in pajamas after adding this new arrival from Piglet In Bed. Vintage florals abound in the ditsy pattern of the Blue Mini Meadow cotton percale duvet cover. We appreciate the details like natural corozo button fastenings and handy inside corner ties that keep your duvet in place. Other colorways (there are 15) of this 200 thread count duvet cover include Blush Pink Slumber Stripe and Cafe au Lait small gingham.

Lambswool Throw by Tartan Blanket Co

Lambswool Throw by Tartan Blanket Co.

Picture yourself with a cup of Earl Grey tea as you’re having breakfast in bed. Having a Tartan Blanket Co. lambswool throw at your feet is only going to add to this bliss. We are especially fond of the Mulberry and Twill Check colorways, but you really can’t go wrong with any of the eight hues. To really lean into the pastoral vibes, add a François-Xavier Lalanne sheep sculpture to your cottagecore bedroom design.

Brooklinen Breezeweave Reversible Cotton Comforter

Cottagecore cozy wouldn’t be complete without a quilt, and this one from Brooklinen is on par to nestling into a cotton candy cloud. The four-layer gauze construction—made with 100% Turkish cotton—is fluffy without weighing down your bedscape. “It reminds me of the blankets I chose for my baby—incredibly cozy but still delicate,” says Alpert. “What a nice surprise to find something that is adult-size!” In addition to solid colors like storm blue and fern green, Brooklinen just dropped reversible colorways, like the perky orange Marigold that flips to peach.

Pierce & Ward Floral Grid Pillow Cover

Pierce & Ward Floral Grid Pillow Cover

Something about the Pierce & Ward Floral Grid pillow cover makes us think that had Virginia Woolf shopped at West Elm for home accents to decorate a room of her own, she’d pick this pattern for her country estate. Its forest green grid against the earthy background gives this pillow just enough sophistication without veering too far from a bucolic moment.
