Though your house had “wonderful bones and huge windows,” Chloe Redmond Warner states, it fell short on livability. “It’s beautifully sited, but it did not have some functionality. Among the kids’ rooms was a closet, there wasn’t an entry, and it was due for upgrading.” The initial step was including a much-needed entrance. Mann matched the existing materials and geometry so the new foyer reads as initial, and it dramatically improved flow. “It sounds easy, but it completely changed how your home works daily,” says the other half. “Before, there was nowhere for mail, knapsacks, sports equipment, or keys to land, which added a surprising amount of stress to every day life.”
