“From the start, I desired your house to feel warm and welcoming– always prepared for entertaining, eclectic yet lovely, and above all, deeply personal,” the spouse shares. Having understood Boyle for many years, she believed in his instincts. “He understood my taste and how we ‘d use the home. The procedure was easy and enjoyable.”

After almost a decade at the company of AD100 Hall of Fame designer Daniel Romualdez, Boyle approached this task with a fluency in classicism and the choreography of rooms. As his first independent commission, it was also a possibility to assert his viewpoint– one the customers relied on but didn’t always instantly accept. Against the wife’s regulation for a younger sensibility, Boyle layered in graphic contemporary artworks, sculptural lighting, and Scandinavian-inflected millwork. The aim was never a devoted New England beach home; it needed, he says, to “feel beachy and homey and appeal to everybody they amuse.”

“The final stage– when tile, wood tones, furnishings, materials, even the kitchen details aligned– was my preferred,” notes the spouse.
