It’s a familiar story: an AFL star and their wife appear to have it all, only for their marriage to break down under the media spotlight.
However amid the headlines and chatter, the concern stays: who gets the keys to your home?

NATHAN AND TANIA BUCKLEY
In 2007, Tania Buckley bought a mansion in Melbourne with her then spouse, AFL fantastic Nathan Buckley, for $3.92 m.
The former AFL power couple separated in 2020 and the Toorak home landed with her throughout the divorce.
Tania ended a nearly year-long effort to offer the Toorak mansion with a close to $10m windfall.
She first put the luxurious residence up for sale in March 2024 with a $16.8 m-$18m price guide. It relisted in October that year with a $15m-$16.5 m asking price.
Industry sources put the last cost at $13.1 m, far above the $3.92 m the Buckleys paid.

‘s 2016 split from wife Melissa, the couple unloaded their home in the wealthy suburban area of Deepdene. The property was sold for$ 6.8 m in May 2015, shortly before it was exposed the Melbourne legend was seeing Nicky Brownless, his best mate’s previous spouse.
Lyon later stepped down from The Footy Show and is set to marry Nicky this year.

. CoreLogic records reveal Nicky purchased a four-bedroom house in Newtown, Geelong, for $1.55 m in early 2013. She offered the residential or commercial property for $2.075 m in May 2018.
