Cheshm Cheran Bazi Playground by ZAV Architects winds through a vast olive orchard in Minoudasht, north-eastern Iran. Set next to the Cheshm Cheran structure, a rural complex the studio completed in 2017 for visitor stays and cumulative farm activity, the play ground extends the task into the orchard through a raised network of platforms, bridges, stairs, and play components.

Intense yellow flooring cuts through the silver-green trees, while crimson steel frames trace curved paths across the grove. The structure walks around trunks, increases into the canopy, and drops back toward the ground, keeping the orchard present from every angle.

Repaired tree positions, farm usage, and the grid’s geometry formed the

strategy, offering the task its unique rhythm. Circular platforms sit at diverse heights, some suspended from the structure and others supported below. Together, they form a continuous path that spirals through the trees and climbs up toward the primary structure. The playground becomes part pathway, part seeing deck, and part climbing structure.

The perforated plastic flooring was developed with regional artisans and regional producers. Its open surface area lets air, light, and shadow pass through, strengthening the connection between deck, tree canopy, and ground.

Slides, swings, trampolines, and turning surfaces appear along the route. Kids move in between circular platforms, mesh railings, spiral stairs, and suspended pathways, with each play component infiltrated the bigger circulation.

This gives the platforms their rounded edges and keeps the system lightweight and modular. Red steel lays out the structure, while yellow decking makes the route simple to check out from above and within the grove.

Seen from below, the project has a clear infrastructural character. Columns, beams, stairs, and circular decks create shaded pockets below the elevated courses, where hanging seats and gathering locations extend play to the ground level.

Cheshm Cheran Bazi Playground broadens Farsh Farm’s function as a location for cultivation, accommodation, and shared activity. It provides children and visitors a direct method to live in the orchard through motion, height, and touch.
