Changing the Routine of Letter Composing into Sculptural Style

As handwritten letters quietly disappear from daily life, designer Maja Stamenković translates the routine of correspondence into a sculptural item. Named Love Letters “M”, the collectible side table reimagines the letter M as a three-dimensional type, crowned by a triangular volume influenced by the flap of an opened envelope. The task continues Stamenković’s continuous Love Letters series of nightstands, where the drawer formerly took the type of an envelope.

In this new model, the envelope is abstracted into geometry and typography: the letter M ends up being the structure itself, shifting the series from functional storage furnishings towards a more sculptural and artistic expression that reviews the tactile and psychological worth of handwritten letters. More than a functional side table, Love Letters “M” operates as a sculptural and symbolic item that motivates users to stop briefly and reconnect with sluggish, tactile gestures in a progressively digital world.
